Clarisa Hernandez is director of supply chain at HornerXpress Worldwide. After graduating from high school in Caracas, Venezuela in 1981, she moved to State College, Pennsylvania, where she obtained her pilot’s license and attended Penn State and Duquesne University for a couple of years before she was forced to return to Venezuela. In Caracas, Hernandez worked for an insurance company at their transportation claims department, obtaining a Venezuelan certification in Purchasing and Transportation simultaneously, which took her to what she does for a living today.  With over 30 years of experience in purchasing, transportation and logistics, she has worked for companies like Warner-Lambert, Janssen Pharmaceutical, Makro and Enron Oil & Gas in Venezuela. Her roles at all of these companies were within supply chain areas, working directly with suppliers, carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers and all government agencies. Hernandez returned to the US in 1999, where she worked with telecommunication companies, tourist agencies, freight forwarders and shippers. For the past 21 years, she has worked at HornerXpress and the export compliance office for HornerXpress Worldwide.
